SMACNA CONTRACTORS – CRAFTSMANSHIP & QUALITY
More than a half-century ago, talented, concerned contractors came together to share their expertise and provide a collective voice to address industry challenges. Today, the members of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association are recognized as the most skilled, highly trained contractors in the industry.

You'll find Our Member Contractors working in all areas: Industrial, Institutional, Residential, Commercial, providing the highest quality workmanship on every job.

SETTING THE STANDARDS SINCE 1943
SMACNA contractors established industry standards for workmanship based on their own experience and definition of excellence. Today, these standards enjoy worldwide acceptance by the design and construction communities.

SMACNA Contractors literally write the books that comprise their national association's vast technical library. They provide you with a uniform method of comparing work specifications so all bids can be fair and honest.

IT PAYS TO HIRE A SMACNA CONTRACTOR
On your next mechanical contract, go directly to the source -- a SMACNA sheet metal and air conditioning contractor. He'll perform the HVAC work with his own forces, and you'll save big in such areas as:

• Savings in bid price; no third party markups on sheet metal work, resulting in more competitive bids.

• Savings on extra work; no third party markup or change orders.

Most importantly, when you work directly with a SMACNA Contractor, you have greater control -- no more relaying of questions and answers through a third party. That means a higher quality end product that can save you money.

EDUCATION – A KEY TO OUR SUCCESS
A commitment to quality workmanship starts with the effective training of new personnel. When you hire one of our affiliated companies, rest assured that the journeymen who do the job are among the best trained craftsmen anywhere. That's no accident. The journeymen who work for SMACNA companies have all gone through a challenging training program offered at special schools organized and overseen by us. They are dedicated to the task of turning out graduates who are highly skilled sheet metal workers.

Of course, running an effective school requires enormous financial resources. Individually, it would be difficult to provide such educational support. But, as a group, we're able to sustain our commitment to maintaining a pool of skilled sheet metal workers across the country. Toward that end, a National Training Fund for the education of journeymen was established as a joint effort, combining the financial resources of local unions and member companies of our chapter, as well as SMACNA and the Sheet Metal Workers International Association.

The NTF money helps to support schools in our area and throughout the nation. All graduates have studied a standardized curricula which includes blueprint reading, welding, soldering, slide rule use and system balancing and testing. They learn all that is necessary to stay abreast of the latest technology.

The high level of education of the journeymen our affiliated companies employ is just one more benefit you'll derive by hiring members of our association.
